monkey forest ubud


Monkey Forest is a nature reserve of wild monkeys in the south about 1 km from Ubud market. There are about 700 monkeys in their own environment. The forest comprises approximately 12.5 hectares and contains at least 180 different species of trees. The Monkey Forest contains the Pura Dalem Agung Padang Tegal temple as well as a holy spring and ritual bathing pool, and the other used for cremation ceremonies.
Walking along the path you are transported into a different world of animal magic. You can watch the monkey dramas, monkeys playing, fighting or just grooming each other. Be adored by the little ones but be very careful for the parent as they are not far away. Please do not feed the monkeys with anything other than bananas and do not touch them. For their health and ours. People often feeding the monkeys to get them to stand on their shoulder to get the best shots.
Monkeys are friendly however beware they can get very angry if be scared. Keep your phone, bag, cameras, sunglasses, and hats close to you as they can take your things, so that they can trade it back for food.
Remember to just relax and follow the parks guidelines about how to interact with the monkeys. or ask the staff member to help you for photo opportunities and you will have amazing day.
